I have two projects going at the moment. A small painting of St. John of the Cross. I should have a picture tomorrow. St. John's been a tremendous influence in my life and I illustrated a translation I did of his poetry.

I'm also working on designing art cards using some pencil and watercolor illustrations I've done over the years--some when I was the editor of Romantics Quarterly. More on that later..

I've been busy the past two days doing cover art for the premiere issue of "Scarlet," a new literary journal edited by Janice Roberts. I love illustrations in watercolor--I did many covers as the editor of Romantics Quarterly, and also for my own book, St. John of the Cross: Selected Poems. Right now, I'm formatting the picture in InDesign, and will post it soon.

Painting Every Day

I'll have to include drawing in the mix. Drawing is a great love of mine since my childhood. But my goal is to be involved in art every day. I don't promise a painting each day--but work on one. I rarely do work smaller that 8X10--most painting being considerable larger--so it wouldn't work for me. Works in progress will appear from time to time.
